Hannah Greely was born in Dickson, Tennessee, and now lives and works as a sculptor in Los Angeles. She is connected with a group of artists from the West Coast of the USA who studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) under sculptor Charles Ray in the early 2000s.
In the exhibition "Los Angeles - A Fiction" we present a subjective selection of literature written in or about Los Angeles over the last 50 years. Excerpts from these writings are organised so that they tell a story that complements the artworks. Nicolas Garait-Leavenworth is the curator behind the literary program of the exhibition. In this interview we asked him about his work with this textual selection and why these texts in particular have been selected for the exhibition.
Nearly three weeks ago, the exhibition "Los Angeles – A Fiction" opened at Astrup Fearnley Museet and has received great attention from our audience. The exhibition is part of the museum’s trilogy of exhibitions representing L.A., so we asked the Museum’s Director Gunnar B. Kvaran, one of the curators of the exhibition, to talk about this interest in Los Angeles’ art community.
