"On emerging narrative(s) of the Czech art scene"
This third thematic evening takes place on 21 March at Astrup Fearnley Museet and looks at the young art scene in the Czech Republic. Artist Pavel Sterec and critic and curator Marketa Stara will make brief presentations of their subjective views on the Czech contemporary art.

With the catchy title "Collecting BEATLES is hell, JOY DIVISION however ... or: Just dollies don't like hits" Børre Haugestad and Astrup Fearnley Museum invited to a lecture where Børre Haugstad looked at the difference between collecting records and art, values and ideology, money and mindset.

Torbjorn Rødland presented this Thursday his new book Vanilla Partner at the Astrup Fearnley Museet.
In conversation with Will Bradley, artistic director at Kunsthall Oslo, Rødland talked about working on the book, his inspiration for it and also his thoughts on the state of photography today.

As an introduction to the project "L'Europe des Artistes" which will end up as a large exhibition where artists from all over Europe will be presented the Astrup Fearnley Museum initiated what will be a series of presentations, discussions and related events with a presentation of the contemporary art scene in France.

"L’Europe des Artistes" is a cultural project on an unprecedented scale: this is a multi-faceted research project unfolding into conferences, events, exhibitions, and publications, dedicated to young contemporary European artists. It is designed and developed in close collaboration, and over several years, by major European art institutions: Astrup Fearnley Museet in Oslo, Beyeler Foundation in Basel, LVHMs Foundation for Contemporary Art in Paris, and by the curator Hans Ulrich Obrist.
