The New Theater was opened in August 2013 in Kreuzberg, Berlin. The artist-run performance space was founded by artists Calla Henkel and Max Pitegoff, who formally ran the legendary (and now closed) Times Bar.

New Theater acts as an umbrella for collaborations and experiments in performance, writing, and contemporary visual art. It hosts individual performances, concerts and readings, as well as larger plays that they help produce in collaboration with a group of artists, writers and performers.

At Astrup Fearnley Museet, New Theater will present a text, installed in collaboration with artist Lena Henke, which struggles with representing a city and deals with the economics of the artist-run space.

Address: Strandpromenaden 2, 0252 Oslo
