Born 1974, USA. Lives and works in San Francisco.
Trisha Donnelly’s work span over various media including photography, drawing, sculpture, sound, video, performances and demonstrations.
Her conceptual projects often have a certain unassailable character; however, the visitor is confronted with an experience of potentiality. In contrast to artists who focus on visual culture, Donnelly takes an interest in the invisible. What at first seems difficult to access – almost invisible – always takes us beyond our initial understanding and offers new ideas and interpretations. She initiates relationships between the physical and the imagined, the real and the fictive, which is activated in different ways with each spectator.
